35th Annual ACHA Little World Hunt Report
There were
some new faces and some old famiiar faces mixed in with the crowd of regular
ACHA hunters at the 35th annual ACHA Little World Hunt hosted by Wabash Valley
Coon Club in Robinson Illinois this
past October 12 - 14, 2006. You can feel the excitement and buzz beginning to
return to the " granddaddy of the World Hunt"! Come out and see for
yourself. ACHA is all about competition hunting and our rules and hunt format
at our three major events are a real test for hounds and handlers. There is a
also a noticeable difference ...
the atmosphere is different than the others! Our supporters are much
more laid back and the casts seem friendlier and more sportsmanship. Another
difference, none of our Directors get one dollar of the hunters money for
salary or expenses. We pay our own way just like you and we volunteer our
services as Directors for ACHA.
The
weather was ideal for the 90 dogs competing for the title on Friday and
Saturday and the Wabash Valley Coon Club did an excellent job of providing
guides and judges for the event. The Directors of ACHA, under the leadership of
President Bob Johnston Sr. also did an excellent job of getting the dogs drawn
out and into the woods in a smooth fashion. But the best job was done by the
hunters who made the hunt a success with their support and sportsmanship!. ACHA THANKS EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU

On
Thursday night 36 dogs turned out for our Breed Hunt. This was the first year
for this new format and it proved to be a big hit and it will become a part of
our Little World Hunt in the future. The Breed Hunt has all the breeds
competing against themselves. A $10.00 entry fee and the high scoring dog of
each breed wins 80% of their breeds entries. The Blueticks had the most entries
(16).
